Catechism & Special Classes

Our Catechists run classes on Saturdays and Sundays during School Terms for all children preparing themselves for the various Sacraments. We prepare children for the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Classes are divided into age-groups according to their school grade or special needs. CHILDREN WHO REGULARLY ARRIVE LATE OR MISS CLASSES WILL BE MARKED ABSENT, AND COULD BE HELD BACK AND ASKED TO REPEAT THE CLASS. Parents are encouraged to take an interest in the spiritual growth of their children by helping them with their prayers, readings and various activities. Registration for the all the classes takes place at the beginning of the year.

Special Baptism Class: Primary School

Only children who have been baptised and have met the requirements of the Reconciliation class will be eligible to receive the first Holy Communion.

Special High School Class

This special class is especially designed for High School pupils who have missed either Baptism, First Communion and Reconciliation classes. When the children have met all the requirements of the class, they will receive their first Holy Communion. Upon completion of the course, they will become eligible for the first year of Confirmation class.
CLASS TIMES: Sundays after 8.30am class

Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds – Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1316
Upon receiving Holy Communion and completing the Post Communion programme, children become eligible for Confirmation classes. High School pupils who complete the requirements of the Special Class High School can also sign up for Confirmation classes.
CLASS TIMES: Every fortnight on Saturdays
